Buddy System - HR Glossary
The buddy system is a program that matches new workers with experienced employees to assist them understand the workplace, work procedures, and how the organization runs. This program is designed to assist new workers in readily adapting to their jobs and reducing desertion during the early stages of employment.
Example
Company A typically trains and recruits new staff in the first few months of the year. During such period, they deploy some experienced employees to serve as companions for the new staff. During their job, these friends will introduce new workers to the organization and its processes, share their experiences, and answer questions.
